Bhandari

UK based, Dr Sadgun Bhandari is a Community Mental Health Team Consultant covering Hatfield, Hertfordshire. He is a MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) from Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College, Karnataka, India and has special interest in the assessment and long term management of Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia. He completed Diploma in Psychological Medicine from National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Science, Bangalore, India.

 

His post graduate training include House Officer in Neurology and Senior House Officer in Psychiatry, Resident in Psychiatry studying for MD and Diploma in Psychological Medicine, Registrar and Senior Registrar in General Adult Psychiatry from London and India.

 

Earlier Dr Sadgun Bhandari was a consultant in General Adult Psychiatry and Assertive Outreach Team at the MHU, Hertfordshire, AL7 4HQ and his job involve regular new and follow-up outpatient clinics, looking after in- patients. He has a wide range of experience in managing particularly complex and challenging patients suffering from psychotic conditions and anxiety disorders.

 

In addition, he is an eminent writer and has contributed several books and articles to the field of “Core Psychiatry” including Epidemiology of Motor Neurone disease in Western India, Journal of Psychopharmacology, Hypersalivation in lithium toxicity, Illness behavior assessment of psychiatric patients with somatic presentation and Somatization and illness behavior Journal of Psychosomatic Research.

 

Dr Sadgun Bhandariis also a chair person of the Eastern Division of the Royal College of Psychiatrists where he involved in 4 Executive Committee meetings in a year, organizing 2 academic meetings in a year as well as attending Council Meetings of the Royal College of Psychiatrists.
